Here are just a few of the truthful comments made towards   Bob's ability from some of the Games Greatest Player's:

DEACON JONES- he was the best- i wish i could of played against him a few years later in my career, that way it would of been a little fairer !! he was a veteran and he really abused me my first and second year.

SAM HUFF-bob blindsided me and cut me in half. It was a sobering lesson for me. I no longer stood by the piles -ijumped on . the hall of fame asked me to rate bob from 1 to 10-i said he was better then 10.

BOB LILLY- he had my number-my first game in the NFL was against bob. i thought i'd show him up. wrong, the first play he knocked me out.

MIKE DITKA- ' I always said he was the best. He was a hell of a football player. He was so tall that he could cut you down with his legs.

JIM RINGO- i played in several pro bowls with bob and i could never understand his lack of recognition. i saw him cut defenders in half.

R.C. "ALLEY OPP' OWENS- how bob performed and what he accomplished was beyond the means of what an offensive tackle was suppose to do. bob was ahead of his time !

GORDY SOLTAU- he was our policeman. when someone did a cheap shot on 1 of us-2 or 3 plays later they would meet up with bob.he would seek them out and they'd end up on the deck .

DOUG ATKINS-there weren't any tougher then him-except for me in the NFL- he could take it as much as he could dish it out.  you bet ya !!
